Facelift

What is a facelift?
A facelift is a cosmetic surgical operation to remove unwanted wrinkles by tightening the skin of the face in order to give a more youthful appearance.

What is a non-surgical facelift?
This is a variation on a theme. This is the use of botox and fillers to reduce wrinkles, without the need for surgery. The difference is that results are less dramatic, and are not maintained for nearly as long as with surgery.

Will there be scars?
There are scars, but these are hidden along or within the hairline, and around and sometimes behind the ear. Scars in these locations heal well, and are very hard to see once fully healed. Where a more pronounced lift is required, I use stitches to lift the muscular structures of the face, which are suspended at a higher level. This improves the contour of the face, particularly the jawline and jowls, to give a more youthful oval appearance to the face. A facelift can be combined with a neck lift to give more harmonious balance to the face.
